A Toast to the Hurricanes

Let's raise a cup to the Hurricanes, they've joined a fine group of NHL teams with their first Stanley Cup, a group that includes the Flames and the Lightning. May they have a long run with this group. It would have been nice to see the Oilers win number six, but it was not to be.

The odds were against them, the last time a team came back from being down 3-1 in the final it was the Leafs in 1942. Whenever you're talking about the Leafs and the Stanley cup you know you're talking about something that just doesn't happen any more.

Go Oilers!

- Peace

Yes, it was a great game!; a great series! Raise our cups to the Hurricanes.

Now when you are talking about the Leafs - their day will come, make no mistake about it!

Dave it's great to see you blogging, will touch base again soon.

Blessings!

I guess there goes my theories that "the only way to beat the Oilers is to sweep them" and that they "win all their Stanley Cup Final Game Sevens".

Though they have won every game that my kids have watched...

Cam Ward made a great showing every game. He joins Patrick Roi (and perhaps others?) as Goalies who have captured the Stanley Cup and the Conn Smythe in their Rookie year.

As Lord Vader would say, "impressive".
