Thanks for inviting me Dave

:)

Some things to be thankful for.br />

Some good music.

Some better music.

I miss ya Dave.
What does the house of God Look Like? I found this image in a post from Urban OnRamps. It's an add for Alta Vista. If you use Alta Vista Image Search to look for "House of God" the image is the first to come up. The original page is from A.R.K. Ministries in Chicago.

Just for fun I ran the same query through Google and the results aren't as good. Compare "House of God" on Alta Vista to "House of God" on Google
I’ve invited Mike Fox to join me in this blogging business. Even if no one else ever reads this, It will be a way for Mike and I to stay in touch. Mike is a software developer, blues player, husband, cat owner and brother in Christ. Mike I look forward to reading your first post :)

So it's been a long week, but I didn't want an entire week to go by with out an entry. A couple of articles ,from very different corners of the web, talking about how art can lead people to the scriptures. One from Salon is part of their Masterpiece series. This entry is on Jesus Christ Superstar.

I find it significant, that art is the one place where Christians can still be heard in the main stream. Even on Salon, a hot bed of secular fundamentalism. Don’t believe me? On Salon’s list of top 20 audio filesare links to two works well known Christians: TS Eliot and JRR Tolkien

From the other corner of the web, I found a great article in Cornerstone about Harry Potter. The article brings CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien and GK Chesterton to JK Rowling’s defense. The article is
Harry Potter vs. the Muggles, Myth, Magic & Joy, By Mike Hertenstein I love the line -- If you don't know who Harry Potter is, your modem must be really slow.

Kevin Frank: True North

Here’s something that made my day. Kevin Frank has started a new comic strip called True North. The comic draws on his experience moving north to Canada. Daily and Sunday samples of his work are on line. Kevin used to live at JPUSA in Chicago, where among other things he drew the great comic Oboe Jones for Conerstone Magazine. I met Kevin at JPUSA back in January of 95. At that time he was planing to move north and start a daily comic. At the time the two ideas where not connected, but funny how things work out.

So I’ve been on the net for a while. (Early 90’s, pre web) And every once in while I like to experiment with faith and Tech. I was part of an early mail list with IVCF Canada, posted the started the second IVCF home page in Canada in 95, and I build the GUI Jesus back in 96. But it’s been six years since I mixed my faith with my passion for tech in public. So here I am playing catch up with those blogging kids.

I’m hoping to convince Pernell at the Freeway to get his team blogging about their lives and media. So I’ll do this for a while and see how it goes.
