Of Torture and Cowardice

Reading the story of The Man Possessed by a Legion of Demons at Xalt a couple of weeks back I was struck by this

What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won't torture me!

Here's what the demons had driven him to:

Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.

Yet when Jesus comes they cry out not to be tortured. Cowards!
