The Aim of the Person of Faith (Peterson)

The aim of the person of faith is not to be as comfortable as possible but to live as deeply and thouroghly as possible - to deal with the reality of life, create beauty, discover truth, act out of love.
Eugene H. Peterson, Run With the Horses, Letter to the Exiles.

I wish got more of the perspective on faith from the Christian sub culutre. For instance how we see our gathering times, do we see them as spiritual pick me ups, all postitve and glowing. Or do we see them as times that will comfort, confront , love , scare and dumbfound us with the great and terible beauty that is creation and the Creator?

- Peace
